HOW IT WORKS

Our Process

01 | Get in touch with me

Reach out to me via my inquiry form.  You can provide me with all the details such as quantity and ink color.  I will reach out if I have any further questions.   Once I have all the details I need, I will provide you with my availability and a custom proposal.

Your proposal will include a short contract and an invoice for a 50% retainer.  The retainer is due before any work begins.  The remaining 50% will be due upon completion of the work before it is delivered back to you.

You can supply your own envelopes/place cards/escort cards to me or I can source them for you.  Please note that I ask for 15-20% extra to account for ink splatters and human error.  I will send an envelope addressing template, along with an etiquette guide, to help you gather your guest addresses.

Once your project is complete, I will send over the final invoice and arrange shipping or a time to meet to return it to you.  Send your invitations to your guests and enjoy all the compliments you get on your special envelopes!

Frequently Asked Questions

Calligraphy can be used in so many ways to elevate your event.  I understand that you probably have lots of questions.  Find answers to some of the most common questions here, but don’t hesitate to reach out to me at angie@limeandlilydesign.com if you have more specific questions or ideas for a project.

My specialty is traditional copperplate calligraphy and I especially love when I get to add beautiful flourishes.  I also have some more modern and whimsical styles.  Please reach out if you have something in mind, but don’t see it pictured above.  Most of the time I can accommodate the style you like.  Similarly, I am often able to write in a style that matches your invitation.

While my hand can’t exactly reproduce a digital font, I can usually get really close and can definitely adjust my hand to be a beautiful complement to your invitation.  Feel free to send me photos of your suite so I can assess how close I can get.  I always email a photo of a writing sample for approval when trying to match a font.

Turnaround time varies with quantities and how busy my calendar is.  In general, I need 2-3 weeks to complete 100-200 envelopes.  I can sometimes accommodate rush orders, so don’t hesitate to ask if you have a tighter timeframe.

I do not charge extra for black, gold, or white ink.  Custom mixed ink colors incure a one-time flat fee of $25 to cover supplies and time spent mixing and colormatching.

Oftentimes, yes.  Handmade and heavily textured paper takes much longer to write on and dulls my writing tools quicker than traditional papers.  If you are planning on using either of these types of papers, let me know ahead of time.  I usually like to receive a sample that I can test and evaluate if an additional charge is necessary or not.

Yes.  I ask for 15-20% extra (sometimes more for handmade paper or tricky writing surfaces) to account for ink splatters and human error.

Yes.  I love providing on-site calligraphy, engraving, and foiling services for live events.  Please contact me and we can chat about your event so I can provide an accurate quote.  Generally, I charge $150 per hour for on-site events.
